The Queen gets go ahead for eco-friendly turbine

At last the Queen has had the panning approved for a new eco-friendly turbine to be built on the Thames. This will be an Archimedes screw hydroelectric scheme based at Romney Weir on the Thames just north of the town.
Although a few local residents were concerned about the potential noise from this, the plans were eventually given the go ahead as the local council considered the advantages to far out-way any disadvantages.
The project will generate clean power for up to 300 local houses and help to power the Castle.
Personally I think this a great move to improve the environment and hope that this is just the first of many such projects.
